Corrections Policy

Hudson Tribune ("we," "us," "our," or "Hudson Tribune") is committed to accuracy and transparency in our journalism. Despite careful editorial review, errors can occasionally occur. This Corrections Policy explains how we identify, handle, and disclose corrections to content published on https://hudsontribune.com/ (the "Site").

1. Our Commitment to Accuracy

We strive to ensure that all content published on our Newsroom is accurate, fair, and properly sourced, in accordance with our Editorial Policy. When we make a mistake, we are committed to correcting it promptly and transparently.

2. Types of Corrections

2.1 Minor Corrections

Minor corrections address small errors that do not materially affect the substance, meaning, or accuracy of a story, such as typographical errors, misspellings, formatting issues, or minor date/time inaccuracies. Minor corrections are typically made without a formal correction notice, though significant edits may still be noted at the editor's discretion.

2.2 Substantive Corrections

Substantive corrections address errors that materially affect the accuracy, meaning, or fairness of an article, such as incorrect facts, figures, misattributed quotes, misidentified individuals, or factual claims that were unverified or false. Substantive corrections are always accompanied by a visible correction notice on the article.

3. How We Handle Corrections

When a substantive error is identified and confirmed, we will:

  • Update the article to reflect the accurate information as soon as reasonably possible;
  • Add a clearly visible correction notice at the top or bottom of the article, indicating what was changed and when;
  • Where appropriate, note the nature of the original error without unnecessarily republishing the inaccurate content;
  • Preserve the overall integrity and timeline of the original reporting rather than silently altering the article.

4. Retractions

In rare cases where an entire article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate, fabricated, plagiarized, or otherwise unpublishable, we may retract the article entirely. A retraction notice will be posted at the article's original URL explaining that the story has been retracted and, where appropriate, the reason for the retraction.

5. Corrections Involving Contributors

Where an error originates from content submitted by a freelance writer or contributor, the correction process described in this policy still applies. Contributors are expected to cooperate with correction requests in accordance with our Contributor Agreement.

6. Corrections Involving Reader Comments

This policy applies to our editorial content and does not extend to reader-submitted comments, which are governed separately by our User Content Policy. We reserve the right to remove comments containing false or misleading factual claims at our discretion.

7. How to Report a Possible Error

If you believe an article on Hudson Tribune contains a factual error, we encourage you to let us know. Please include the article title, URL, and a description of the suspected error, along with any supporting information or sources, when reporting an issue.
