Netflix Sets October Premiere for Florence Pugh’s East of Eden
Netflix is preparing to bring East of Eden to audiences on October 1, with Florence Pugh leading a seven-episode limited series adapted from John Steinbeck’s classic American novel.
Florence Pugh Leads the Adaptation
Pugh plays Cathy Ames, one of the central figures in Steinbeck’s story of the Trask family. The adaptation comes from writer and showrunner Zoe Kazan, who has developed the novel for television while retaining its themes of family conflict, ambition, morality and personal choice.
Christopher Abbott plays Adam Trask, while Mike Faist portrays Charles Trask. The cast also includes Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, Joseph Zada and Joe Anders.
