The Chicago Bears delivered an impressive performance on the road, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 in their Week 8 Monday Night Football clash on November 2, 2026. The victory highlighted Chicago’s growing ambitions as a contender and provided an impressive debut for newly acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Playing at Lumen Field, the Bears controlled the contest from the opening quarter. Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards, while running back D’Andre Swift scored three rushing touchdowns to lead Chicago’s offensive attack.

Bears vs Seahawks 2026: Jeffery Simmons Delivers Outstanding Debut

Chicago’s recent acquisition of Simmons proved particularly valuable against Seattle. The defensive tackle made his presence felt immediately, recording a sack during his opening defensive series. Simmons finished the contest with six tackles, one sack, one quarterback hit, two tackles for loss and a pass deflection. His performance strengthened a defensive front that had been seeking a consistent interior presence.

The Bears acquired the three-time AP All-Pro from the Tennessee Titans on October 29, surrendering two first-round picks and a fourth-round selection. Chicago also received a fifth-round pick as part of the agreement. The early returns suggest Simmons could become an important addition to Chicago’s postseason ambitions.

Seahawks Struggle Despite Quenton Nelson’s Arrival

Seattle’s newly strengthened offensive line could not produce the expected improvement against Chicago’s defence. The Seahawks managed just 81 rushing yards, with rookie running back Jadarian Price recording 29 yards on 10 carries. Zach Charbonnet added 23 yards from six attempts.

Newly acquired guard Quenton Nelson joined Seattle after an October 27 trade with Indianapolis. However, his arrival did little to resolve the team’s ground-game problems in this matchup. Quarterback Sam Darnold completed 17 of 34 passes for 188 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Seattle also struggled on third downs, converting just one of 11 attempts.

Caleb Williams and D’Andre Swift Lead Chicago’s Victory

Williams continued his impressive campaign by directing an offence that accumulated 363 total yards against Seattle’s defence. Swift provided the finishing touch, recording three rushing touchdowns despite facing a difficult defensive front. Chicago also received valuable contributions from its receiving options, including Rome Odunze and Colston Loveland. Defensively, the Bears limited Seattle to 252 total yards and recorded three sacks and an interception. The result improved Chicago’s record to 6-2, while Seattle dropped to 4-4. The victory was another significant statement from the Bears. Their ability to combine an increasingly productive offence with an improved defensive front could make them a serious contender as the 2026 NFL season progresses.
